Unemployment & Gardening & Panic Monsters & Photographs…My What a Title!

Mmm….The dirt under my nails, my hair swelling from the heat, the sweet – oh so sweet – breeze that cools off the day. Fantastic!

It has been a good day so far, the hubby and I have been buzzing around the house with a new purpose – to clean/repair/improve every inch of the house and the garden. Within our budgetary means, which means anything we can do for free.

We have both been a little, preoccupied. Him not having a job is obviously already taking its toll, he’s like a hummingbird on crack. We will get through this no doubt, but I just wish I could ease the stress lines that are appearing on his face. It’ll be good for us to be together and working in the house, refreshing even. We can take our time, enjoy what we have and realized that we have more than enough in our lives.

I feel like I should be knitting, should be working on my Etsy store, should be blogging, should be taking photos, should be reading on how to….you know what? Never mind. In the here and now, I am happy just the way I am. I am going to drink my iced tea with lemonade and relax with a nice fiction book in all it’s purposeless splendor.

Just for fun (despite the Panic Monster’s fear of humiliation) here are some photos I’ve recently taken. Enjoy your weekend everyone, I will try to be more organized come Monday!

PLEASE, do us all a favor and post photos you take EVERY day! My favorites are the moon photographs. Stunning. And those cuddling birds! Never be reluctant to post your photos, because, believe me, everyone is going to fall in love with them.

Guess ho just bought from your shop? This girl!!!!
My Mom give me a gift card to check out Etsy’s finest and I got a pair of your earrings, I am SOOO excited!
How on earth do you make those? My creativity seems limited to knitting:)
You are so talented, I can’t wait!
Oh…how are the patterns? I found a couple more if you need them!

YAY! Thank you so much for buying from my shop! One day I plan to do a blog post about photo pendant jewelry. I can’t wait to get these packaged and sent out to you!

Oh, and I’m about to start on the Simple Beanie pattern. I’m really excited about it.

In order to gets shots if the moon like that on a budget, I would have to take the photo through the eyepiece of a telescope, and that is no small feat. I’m kind of stoked to know about this.

You know I can get the same shot with my brothers Canon PowerShot as well. If you have an iPod-or any Apple product, or Photoshop for that matter you can use a sharpening filter to get the same results. In Photoshop it is a high-pass overlay. I think the trick is just get as clear as a view as possible and proceed to tweak the saturation.

I might try that. My wife’s “baby” is a Nikon J1 and I don’t mess with it because it took her a while to get it set up the way she likes it – but I still have her previous camera which is a Powershot Elph.

You have a good attitude–don’t let the “to-dos” get you down. As long as you’re taking “baby steps” in the directions you want to go, you’ll get there. 🙂

Thank you! I watch the moon every night, traveling across the sky surrounded by light and clouds just drifting. Lonely is a good word for it, but it’s so beautiful, I find I am always taking pictures of it. I was thinking of doing an entire lunar cycle in pictures…weather permitting, what do you think?

Thank you, I’m not really sure how to take compliments though. I still have never shown my writing to any one but my husband and the photos have been a leap of faith. It means a lot, the positive feedback….I didn’t think anyone would really even look twice.
As always, you are far too kind but thank you!

I think you’re too critical of yourself. I’ve been my own worst critic my whole life, but I’m starting to realize that it has only hindered my progress and development.
I’m not being kind – just honest. x
